When you’re an old Millennial like me, there’s really no better sight than Olsen’s. But we don’t get many of them, and the photos we DO get usually don’t have their full costume. That is not the case this time. Mary-Kate Olsen was photographed walking the streets of NYC last week in a casual outfit that contains some of today’s popular trends.
First, is the color trend. Olsen usually wears dark, but instead, she wears baggy ripped jeans and a thin scarf with a bright red jacket. There is no larger color trend in 2023 than red, and to see even Olsen embrace it is more proof. Next, the bag. We’ve done a lot of reports this year about how oversized bags are dominating mini bags, and Olsen will likely be the first to agree. She brought a handbag from The Row that was big enough to be used as hand luggage on the plane. And finally the flats trend, another surprise for Olsen: metallic gold loafers. Metallic shoes are undoubtedly one of the most exciting trends of the season, and their popularity shows no signs of waning.
