Marlon Wayans talked about slapping the Oscars during his Breakfast Club interview.
Wayans was friends with both men but he thought Smith was wrong.
“Both are my friends. That was hard for me. It was like watching two brothers fight. It was difficult for me because I had known Will for 20 years. I’ve known Chris Rock since I was 12 years old,” he said.
“For me, I was just like, ‘Yo.’ I did not know what had happened. I feel bad because I’m a brother. As a brother, I feel bad for Tony Rock and Jordan. “Since now, Will does it, you’re questioning my loyalty.”
Will was banned from the Academy for a decade because of the slap.
“You can’t hit Chris for a joke. That’s Chris. Chris jokes, that’s what he does and he’s too small. You do action movies, I’m a legend, you do push-ups behind your back, pull up, and lift weights. Chris plays crackers. The heaviest thing this n * gga has ever lifted is a pipe that has cracked in New Jack City. Why did you hit Chris Rock? Now if Will slapped The Rock, I would say, ‘What a great man.’ You can’t hit little Chris Rock. Like I said, it was hard for me because I love both. ”
