Markus Reiterberger is moving to the FIM Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) after claiming his fourth title at the International German Motor Championship (IDM). After a promising start for Reiterberger and his team, the ARRC 2020 season has come to an early end due to the coronavirus pandemic.

I am very happy to have another chance in the Asian Road Racing Championship. Three years ago, I completed my first ARRC event on the MotoGP track in Sepang. Back then, I finished fourth in the first race on the wet and won the second on the dry with a lead and a new lap record. I really liked it, but unfortunately Corona intervened and the rest of the season was cancelled. So I’m more than happy to have another chance to race in Asia. It was a great championship. It is international. Factories from Japan are very interested in this championship. So it’s very interesting for us. We are competing as a European manufacturer with a Malaysian team. The race tracks are really good. Most of them are tracks from the MotoGP calendar. I also like the climate because it is always very warm.

Together with the ONEXOX BMW TKKR team, Reiterberger will start a new endeavor this year. In addition to his commitment in Asia, the 28-year-old German driver from Obing will also continue to be a member of the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team in the FIM Endurance World Championship and is aiming for the world title with him. with BMW. Reiterberger will drive the 2023 version of the BMW M 1000 RR in both championships.

“Besides ARRC, I will continue to compete for Team BMW Motorrad World Endurance in the Endurance World Championship. The clear goal is the title of world champion. I think we have the package to do that. Our rider lineup has not changed and is therefore still as strong as last year. In the 2022 season, we were able to show strong on a regular basis. Our bikes are even better for 2023. I am especially looking forward to Spa, because aside from the IDM circuit in Schleiz, this is my absolute favorite by far. The circuit is simply amazing.
