Luis Ortiz Wants Deontay Wilder Trilogy After He ‘Knocks’ Andy Ruiz Jr

Cuban heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz is looking past his next opponent, Andy Ruiz Jr, and wants to take on former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder again.

In an interview with FightHypewhen Ortiz was told that Deontay Wilder wanted to fight him in a three-part match if he made a successful appearance against Ruiz, he replied:

“First of all, it makes me very happy for him [Wilder] say.

I think if he says that, it’s true. The trio should happen. He’s the only one who doesn’t make excuses against me.

I consider him a friend. Then again, inside the ring, we are enemies. No friends anymore.

I will be looking forward to that battle if it happens. “

Ortiz fought Wilder twice for the heavyweight title, both times being knocked out.

To have any chance of facing Wilder for a third time, Ortiz must first get past another former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr on September 4. The Cubans don’t expect the fight to go far, insists it can only end with knockout:

“Andy’s speed doesn’t bother me at least. I feel that I have the necessary tools to combat that speed.

Look, this fight will end in a knockout no matter because the umpires will have nothing to do with it.

There’s pressure on both sides with Andy and me. We will both try and get that KO. “

The winner can continue to face whoever wins between Wilder and Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius, who will meet on October 15.
