Eric Belanga, Custio Clayton’s Coach, Believes Jaron Ennis Is All Hyperbole

No matter who you may ask in the boxing world, Jaron Ennis’ talent is often described as being otherworldly, awesome, or awesome. Perhaps, even all of the above.

Over the course of his relatively brief career, the Philadelphia-born player has wowed fighting fans with his ability to finish matches in the blink of an eye and the mastery he displays when he fights without a hitch. in two positions.

With Ennis bursting into power in 2021, he’ll be even closer to his first crack at a world title when he takes on Custio Clayton on May 14, in an IBF title elimination.

Though often praised for his aggressive style and never-say-die attitude, Clayton is hugely superior in the eyes of the boxing public and in the minds of the betting world. But, even though it was taken into account, Eric Belanger, Custio’s trainer, believed his warrior would present Ennis with a difficult puzzle to solve on the night of the fight.

“I think we bring a lot of different things,” Belanger told FightHype.com. “We can box, we can press, we can counter-attack, our defense is solid. I think we also bring a level of maturity that Jaron hasn’t seen yet.”

At 24, Ennis may be significantly younger than his 34-year-old veteran rival, but Philadelphia believes he’s ready to go out into the world. As Ennis enjoyed a moment in the sun, Clayton worked quietly in the dark.

In 2020, after a knockout win over Diego Ramirez, Clayton faced off against former £140 player, Sergey Lipinets, in just two weeks. Despite the short spin, Clayton fought the Lipinets in even proportion, resulting in a decisive majority draw. Ennis, on the other hand, easily stopped Ennis a year later.

As Belanga continues to prepare his man for what could be the biggest challenge of his career, the longtime coach finds it difficult to keep track of the highly touted 24-year-old.

At this point, Ennis has yet to be tested in the ring, leaving Belanga with more questions than answers for their upcoming contest. However, despite everything, Belanga is confident in his ability to come up with a suitable play plan to win.

As Clayton’s main corner voice continued to break the ice about Ennis late into the night, he often found himself grinning at what he saw.

Finally, he admitted that Ennis had extraordinary talent. With that in mind, however, he believes that by May 14, his hype train will be seriously derailed.

“He was flashy and got us excited,” Belanga continued. “He does big moves, he has charisma, he has the element of incredible being in the ring. It makes my job a bit difficult in a way because when you have an untested undefeated all the holes you see in his game are hypothetical. You have to assume their flaws but once we get there, that’s when we’ll find out. We cannot base our game plan on an assumption. Is he all the hype? We assume he is. Will he be exposed on May 14? I think he will.”
