Can you imagine yourself at work and looking up to see a sweet wild dog staring at you through a set of glass doors? You might be a little startled at first, but of course, you’ll want to run outside to say hi and help him try to find his family.
But what do you do if no one comes forward to accept him, and no one is willing to raise him?
It was in the middle of their workday when a woman named Kristin and her co-worker had an unexpected guest show up outside. They spotted a dog staring at them through the glass. The mighty Mastiff seemed to materialize out of nowhere, and no one knew where he came from or to whom he might belong.
So they took his picture and posted it all over their local lost and found sites, hoping to help him find his way back home.
At the end of the workday, the group decided to leave the dog (later named Hoss) there overnight, in case someone came looking for it. When they returned in the morning, the dog had crawled out from underneath one of their work trailers.
Hoss gave them a warm welcome and was clearly delighted when they returned.
But after all their posts, and even though he was so sweet and friendly, no one came to claim the dog. Nor have there been any offers for a foster home. So, since they didn’t want to leave him there for the weekend, Kristin stepped up and brought the big, friendly dog home with her.
Not long after they arrived, Kristin realized that this was probably Hoss’ first time in the house. The tile floor scared him, and he worried about many new things. But it didn’t take long before Kristin’s dogs showed him the ropes. The moment his feet felt the grass in their backyard, he took action and eagerly played with each member of his foster family.
Then, about a month later, Bullmastiff Rescue arranged a wonderful adoption for him. Hoss has found a wonderful permanent home in New Jersey. His new furry brother was once a nervous puppy, just like Hoss. But with Hoss present, Bunker was happier and more confident than ever.
Hoss went from being a scared newbie to helping his new furry brother come out of their shell!
