Lonely woman asked for a sign, then saw 2 elderly dogs coming back to report needing a home
When Jeanette’s beloved dog died, she was completely devastated. The house was much quieter now, which made her feel even more lonely. She cried every day and prayed to God for a sign.
That’s when she walked into her kitchen and saw a pair of elderly dogs announcing the need for a home.
Without hesitation, she called the shelter and immediately drove from New Jersey to New York City to meet them. It was love at first glance, and as soon as Jeanette saw Ruby and Chicky, she knew she had to adopt them.
She brought them back to her home, and the senior pair settled in pretty quickly. The more time Jeanette spends with her new dogs, the faster her heart heals from her devastating loss. While she will always miss her late dog, Ruby and Chicky certainly helped fill the void.
“They changed our lives because they were fun, they welcomed you, and they loved you,” says Jeanette. “They’re so grateful, it’s unbelievable.”
The house has come to life again, thanks to them. And Jeanette changed their lives too. Now, they have a lovely home to spend the last years of their lives. Without Jeanette, they may have spent the rest of their lives in a shelter, as many people do not adopt older dogs.
Jeanette said Ruby and Chicky are the best dogs and love to go for walks. But since they come from New York City, where there is no grass, it will take them a while to get used to it. They always stay on the concrete and avoid the grass, but once they’ve walked on it, they love it.
This is definitely a touching story of ‘who saved who?’ Hear more of their story in the video below:
