Mauricio Lara will now turn his attention to his third game against Josh Warrington following his thrilling win over Emilio Sanchez last night.
Their three-round fight thrilled fans in San Diego, where the main event featured Roman Gonzalez against Julio Cesar Martinez. Despite her injuries, Lara was able to recover in time to destroy Sanchez with a brutal knockout when the third-half bell rang.
Lara, ranked 3rd by the IBF, he is now eyeing to face the Briton again if he beats champion Kiko Martinez for the title in their March 26 rematch. A win for Warrington would see him become a two-time title holder at 126lbs and would put him in the sights of hard-hit Lara.
“Win your fight,” was Lara’s message to Warrington as he spoke to Matchroom Boxing after his win over Sanchez.
“I want you to win this match and I hope that it goes well, and I want you to prepare well. This is my prize and I will bring it to you in our fight. “
“I want to conquer all the belts at 126lbs,” he added. “I want to fight for the title against any champion who gives me a chance. There’s Warrington but I’d also like to unify all the belts at 126lbs. ”
In February 2021, Lara caused a huge disappointment when he stopped Warrington in group 9order Their ring has no title. Seven months later, the Mexicans traveled to Great Britain again, this time in Warrington’s home city of Leeds in front of 20,000 outdoor spectators only for the match to pause in the second round. Their rematch was starting to heat up before Lara got his left eye cut which resulted in the game being stopped and a technical draw declared.
