Big news for fans of two-stroke engines is the switch from the Transfer Gate Injection System, introduced in 2017, to the 39 mm Keihin Throttle Body Injection system used over the past few years by manufacturers enduro riders backed by their factory. The oil tank in the frame is still retained and the oil is still pumped in so there is still no need to pre-mix the fuel.

The reed valve housing has new plastic caps on the outside of the reed valve housing for better sealing of the entire intake manifold. KTM claims that this new design eliminates over-fuelling on harsh uphill or downhill sections and eliminates bogging or heavy running.

With the advent of EFI, solenoid valves are now electronically controlled according to the throttle position and engine RPM. Automatic calibration, no more trouble with incorrect capacity valve adjustment, with EMS automatically calculates the ideal position.

KTM claims this results in a linear and predictable power delivery at all throttle inputs, as well as the ability to combine different engine maps across the 2-stroke range. On the four-stroke range, map switches have multiple functions, used to toggle between engine maps, Traction Control, and Quick Shift options.

The machine’s backbone is new with a black powder-coated frame that’s hydraulically formed, laser-cut and robot-welded that’s said to deliver more flex in the right areas. The shock mount is no longer connected to the main frame tube, and the new mount is said to improve squat resistance. The motor position has been changed to reposition the rotary block. The four-stroke engine leans back two degrees and the front sprocket is 3mm lower.

The thicker sidewalls also contribute to improved reliability and stiffness specifically in high-stress areas such as the steering head and the damping mount, while the new parallel frame mounts on the 2024 two-stroke range are introduced. is expected to further improve the flexural properties.

The new hollow, die-cast aluminum swingarm is optimized for rigidity, while an improved casting process is said to reduce weight by around 190 g. A new 22 mm rear axle has also been fitted to match the new flexural characteristics of the chassis.

The result of the new frame shape is that the footrest has moved inward, creating a slimmer overall look. This makes the footpegs less likely to hook into deep grooves or narrow lines. However, the overall size of the legroom has increased.

The forged triple clamps feature a “more forgiving” highly flexible steering body that is said to offer more shock absorption and flexibility to the rider. This modified design and optimized rigidity require a higher tightening torque of the mounting screws, with the upper triple clamp tightened to 20 Nm and the lower triple clamp up to 15 Nm.

They are paired with new bar holders that increase grip surface area for the new, black, tapered NEKEN aluminum handlebars. Features the same KTM-exclusive bend pattern found on the latest KTM SX models. A newly designed, larger, KTM-branded bar spacer features the same designs as on the frame guards and fuel tank spoiler.

An all-new lightweight two-piece subframe (1,815 kg), made from a combination of polyamide and reinforced aluminum, acts as a cover for several electronic brain boxes. The main one is the new ‘Terrain Controller’ which replaces the use of electronic fuses and relays. In the event of any electrical component failure, the outputs are turned off individually, with the fault status of each device indicated by a red or green LED. KTM claims this makes troubleshooting quick and easy on the trail, time will tell..

Suspension changes include a new 48mm WP XACT sealed box-spring fork with a new middle-valve piston concept that is said to optimize oil flow in the box. A new hydraulic stop at the last 68 mm of stroke also helps reserve maximum compression. The fork guards have been updated with a new design that is said to enhance protection against dirt ingress. Overall, the total fork length increased from 928 mm to 940 mm, while travel increased from 292 mm to 300 mm.

At the rear, the new WP XPLOR PDS shock absorbers are adjustable to reduce preload, reduce bounce and reduce compression. Change shock absorbers at both ends without tools. Tidyer with the overall length reduced to 402.7 mm compared to 415 mm in the previous generation, the journey is reduced from 105 mm to 102.7 mm, the weight is reduced by 380 g. It also has a new main piston, designed for optimized oil flow and more stable damping characteristics. New bearing washers have also been included, which KTM claims has set the standard when it comes to maintenance and service times.

The new front fender design now also features what KTM claims are mud fins to push mud away from the driver or radiator, and the rest of the bodywork is also completely new and includes lights. purple flash reminiscent of KTM enduro bikes 25 years ago.

The new chain guard and chain slider are said to improve durability and be less likely to get caught in boots or foreign objects, as well as reduce dirt build-up around the swingarm and guard. chain. The chain adjustment mark is now visible from above to allow for easier chain adjustment.

The transparent four-stroke fuel tank has a capacity of 8.3 liters while the two-stroke fuel tank has a capacity of 8.9 liters. An integrated fuel pump on the four-stroke Enduro series has an external fuel line positioned to make it less prone to damage. A new integral fuel pump and filter provides an improved fuel supply allowing for more tank emptying at low fuel levels.

KTM 350 EXC-F

An all-new LED headlight unit is claimed to have improved illumination by up to 300 percent. The headlight mask itself integrates a triple clamp guard that covers the bottom triple clamp and protects it from wear due to overturning, while inside the headlights the LED kit receives a new quick release system. .

KTM 350 EXC-F and 300 EXC

A lightweight 2.0 Ah Li-Ion battery is fitted to the KTM EXC 2024 series and retrofitting a backup starter is no longer possible on any engine capacity.

The all-new KTM EXC and EXC-F 2024 range will be available at KTM authorized dealers in Australia and New Zealand from September 2023 onwards.
