One of the important parts of 2022 Kia EV6 Final puzzle here: pricing. The base model, called Light, comes with 58 kWh the battery pack for 232 miles range. It also has a single rear motor that makes 167 horsepower. It starts at $42,115, including destination fees. It qualifies for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit, effectively reducing the price to $34,615. Discounts in other states will bring that price down further.
Above the Light are the Wind and GT-Line models, which have a larger 77.4 kWh battery pack. They are offered with a single rear engine producing 225 hp, or dual engines and all-wheel drive making 320 hp together. With a single motor, the range for the large battery models is 310 miles and the dual motor reduces the range to 274 miles. Pricing, as well as other specifications, have yet to be announced for the high-performance GT. The prices of the EV6 series so far are listed below:
- Light: $42,115
- Wind RWD: $48,215
- Dual wind engine AWD: $52,115
- GT-Line RWD: $52,415
- Dual engine GT-Line AWD: $57,115
This valuation makes That The EV6 is slightly more expensive than its platform companion, Hyundai Ioniq 5, starting at $40,925. $41,955 VW ID.4 close to the Kia, albeit a few hundred dollars cheaper. The Ford Mustang Mach-EHowever, it’s more expensive than the Kia, starting at $44,995. But when comparing all-wheel drive variants, the Kia is more expensive than all of these competitors. Full range Nissan Ariya price hasn’t been announced yet, so we’re not exactly sure how it fits into these vehicles.
Kia expects the EV6 to reach agency in just a few weeks (our review of it is also coming soon) and will be “eligible for sale in all 50 states.” We take that to mean it won’t be limited to one part of the country initially.
