Holiday plans delayed because of gas prices
Good morning friends and happy Thursday! Do you feel that? That’s how it feels to be almost the weekend. That is a beautiful thing. I hope you’ve got some plans, because the weather is noise for some outdoor activities right now. No camping though. Camping is terrible.
Something else that’s terrible? Gas prices. Am I right, guys? See what I did there? I am very good. Anyway, the price of gas. They are going up. The national average price of a gallon of gas is now up a cent more than it was yesterday. The new average is $4.12, according to AAA.
We talked a lot about how rising gas prices affect our lives, but now it seems something else could come to the fore because of it. The holidays are about to be a big hit, according to washington articles. The site spoke to several people who had to put their travel plans on hold because of the rising cost of things:
As the average price of gas hovers below $6 per gallon in California, some other road trips can also hit it hard.
“Two of the trips that we had planned, we weren’t going to do,” Jensen said. “We were talking about doing a road trip with our kids, and I didn’t even know it would save money.”
After the delta variant cooled down with “hot summers” last year and an increase in omicrons made vacation travel icy, many Americans clung to the idea of returning to a normal vacation. often – also known as “revenge tourism”. Instead, pent-up travel demand, high gas prices, and inflation created the perfect storm.
That has led many travelers to reevaluate their itinerary, whether that means canceling that trip abroad (again) or exchanging it for more modest domestic trips.
We all deserve to go far on a trip, and I hope we all will in one way or another.
Maybe today’s gas price winners and losers can give you an idea of where you should be on your road trip this Summer.
