With countless matches in the Korean weight class yet to be played, the showdown between the heavyweight champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO belt holder Terence Crawford, still reigns as the best fight in the weight division.

Considering their skills, picking the winner of their hypothetical showdown often results in mixed answers. However, after sharing the ring with both fighters, former IBF 147-pounder Kell Brook has a good assumption about who will win.

“I think you have to lean towards Crawford,” Brook said in an interview with ProBoxing-Fans.com. “Crawford is the number one pound for the pound.”

In November 2020, Brook found himself facing Crawford in an attempt to regain championship glory. Despite a good start, the British-born player was eventually stopped in the 4th round.

A few years earlier, close to his prime, Brook had placed his IBF welterweight title ahead of a Spence Jr. in 2017.

Even as Brook fought on the conditions even with the Dallas production, he eventually succumbed under his unrelenting pressure, succumbing in the 11th round.

Although Brook was stopped with a more brutal and violent style in his recent fight with Crawford, when asked to choose a more sinister puncher, Brook didn’t think twice.

“I mean Spence.”

Currently, Brook is gearing up to start training camp for his long-awaited bout against British rival Amir Khan. However, even as Brook claims on many occasions that he wants nothing more than to silence Khan, he is intrigued by a possible union between his two previous conquerors.

Not long ago, Crawford backed Brook in praising his skills by being the first to stop former two-time heavyweight champion Shawn Porter. Considering Crawford’s current form, which has led to a nine-match knockout streak and more importantly, the long list of injuries and inactivity that has kept Spence Jr out of the ring since a one-sided win over Danny Garcia , and Brook believes he has no choice but to side with the pound star.

“It’s still going to be interesting but I think, just with the way he deals with Porter, I think you have to start leaning towards Crawford.”
