Keeneland announced that they will be holding a Sale for Selected Racehorses in April on Sunday, April 30, starting at 4 p.m. ET.
The print entry deadline for the April sale catalog is Monday, April 3. Approved additional entries will be accepted until the sale is over.
Keeneland successfully hosted its Select Sale last April on the closing date of the Spring Encounter, and the sale will return to that spot on the calendar in 2024. The move to Sunday of the year. this is a one time event to avoid conflict with the Ocala Breeder ‘Sales’ Spring for 2 year olds in Sales training.
“The April pick-up offers the energy and excitement of the Spring Encounter and gives riders a great opportunity to cash in or buy quality individuals, especially those good runners in Keeneland, as they move into the summer race,” said Keeneland vice president of sales Tony Lacy.
“While we feel the end date remains the ideal location for the April Sale, the move to Sunday this year still allows us to display these horses appropriately before the launch. attention shifts to Derby week Louisville and Kentucky. date schedules in 2024 and beyond.”
