Kazmike, Unanimous Point at Aqueduct
Peter Kazamias, owner of the New York hybrid Kazmike knew his horse was going to have a big day at the $200,000 New York Stakes Square Division at Aqueduct race track. All Kazmike had to do was put on his shoes. He did, and besides briefly taking the lead, Kazmike took the win and took the lead 1:18.70 on the 6 1/2-long main track. Eligible sophomores in New York on April 23.
Trained by Dimitrios Synnefias, son of Bank Heist began a pair of runners-up in a six-round sprint effort against state-bred maidens at the Aqueduct, including a tough ride that took place on March 31.
“Last time he lost a shoe, so we knew he was going to run big,” said Kazamias. “I told (jockey Trevor McCarthy) to move forward. Today’s pace is being held. Horse 2 (Barese ) was closer but the speed was being held back, so we took the lead. McCarthy gave him an excellent ride. “
Sent to post at 9-1, Kazmike took the lead from the farthest column 7 when Barese broke in and was a step behind from column 2, briefly beating with The only union to his inside. Kazmike marks the opening quarter mile in: 22.61 seconds on the fast main track under pressure from Mr. Larry and Unique Unions, who quickly regained their footing after the break.
Barese hustled into fourth at the back as the Unique Societies were tipped off the tracks and out to Mister Larry with Kazmike leading the way across half a mile in: 46.38. Unique Unions take a large share throughout the turn as Barese tries in vain to catch up with a wide rally as Kazmike continues to lead the fight.
Unique Unions took the lead at the tense call, but Kazmike persisted to win 1/4. It is 5 1/4 the length back to Barese in third place. Mo Dancin , Red DGP , Tommy Gun, and Mister Larry rounded to end order.

Unanimously overwhelming Woodhaven Foes
A race later on Saturday, Agreed Still perfect for Klaravich Stables owners with a surprise win at the Woodhaven Stakes of $100,000 that sent a 3-year-old 1 1/16 mile across the patio in 1:42.95.
Trained by Chad Brown, son of Almanzor won his first bet 1 3/4 games ago with a well-timed dribble from Manny Franco.
Unanimous consensus dragged on late in Woodhaven Staking
Unanimous agreement has been broken from post 5 and is content to achieve the speed set forth by Chanceux who jumped to take command from Maseta when field six crosses the rope for the first time and enters the first turn over the quarter-mile opening in: 24.22. Franco decided Consensus unanimously in fifth along the track with the order unchanged for half a mile at: 49.53 on solid grass.
Maseta and Fort Washington walking on an outside road nearing the final turn when Chanceux began to tire. Franco began his mission, keeping the ground steady throughout the turn before unleashing a menacing bid down the middle of the track and flying forward as soon as he passed the eighth post.
