Ekow Essuman defended the British welterweight title and IBF Europe on Saturday as co-lead of Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte’s much-anticipated heavyweight title fight. 16-0 Essuman faced Darren Tetley 21-2 in a scheduled 12th round match. Essuman controlled the range early on.
Announcer Tim Bradley said in the fourth season: “This seems like a hot discussion to me. Indeed, it is not a particularly thrilling matchup, at least a third of the way to the scheduled 12th round love affair. With that in mind, Essuman pressured his men into the fifth inning while Tetley struggled to hold on. However, the war continued. In fact, everything seemed to be the same in the eleventh round as it was in the fourth round. By the final round, it was clear that Eussuman would win – which he did, by decision.
