2023 Kawasaki KLR650 & KLR650 Adventure
Kawasaki’s rugged LAMS adventure bike, the KLR650, and the Adventure variant will all return in 2023, with confirmed prices of $9,394 + ORC for the base and $10,394 + ORC for the KLR650 Adventure, both already available from dealers.
The KLR650 has been overhauled for 2021, largely to meet Euro5 standards, with added EFI, more bodywork, upgraded front brakes, engine durability tweaks, and a now permanently connected subframe with the main frame above the new swingarm.
Fuel capacity has also been increased to 23 liters and the seat height is lowered to 870 mm to create a more accessible feel for those with short legs.
LED lighting also becomes standard alongside the LCD display. Those are the updates many people want, but actually matching the original pack is always much more relevant than racehorses.
38.5 hp and 51.5 Nm did not set the world on fire, and the weight of 210 kg, or 222 kg in the Adventure version is not light. Retaining the five-speed gearbox might also make you look for a different transmission on the highway than some bikes, but the KLR still gets the job done.

The 41mm front fork offers a generous 228mm of travel, while the rear shock can be adjusted for both preload and bounce with a stroke of 185mm.
Braking while being upgraded is a single 300 mm disc at the front with dual-piston calipers and a 240 mm rear with a single-piston caliper, both of which are assisted by ABS.
The Adventure is, as the name suggests, ready for the long haul off the show floor. That includes lockable baskets, fog lights, crash bars, DC sockets, and USB sockets. Adjustable screens are standard on both models.
