Joint Venture CommonSpirit Health, AdventHealth end Centura


CommonSpirit Health and AdventHealth will cancel their longtime Centura Health joint venture, with CommonSpirit taking control of most of the 20 hospitals.

Then the Catholic Health Initiative, which became Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health following a merger with Dignity Health in 2019, and AdventHealth founded Centura in 1996. The joint venture has reached ““ natural maturation,” Health Systems said in a press release.

Alamonte Springs, Florida-based AdventHealth will operate and manage five hospitals—Avista Adventist Hospital, Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Littleton Adventist Hospital, Adventist Hospital Parker and Porter Adventist Hospital in Colorado. CommonSpirit will operate and manage 15 other hospitals in Colorado and western Kansas.

Centura is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado with 21,000 employees and 6,000 doctors.

AdventHealth cancels Amita Health joint venture with St.-based Ascension. Louis in 2021. Amita, a 19-hospital system based in the western suburbs of Chicago, was founded in 2015.
