He defeated former world title challenger Bryant Jennings in 2019 by unanimous decision. That was the only time any match of undefeated heavyweight Joe Joyce went that far. The Londoner was last seen in October playing against former world champion Joseph Parker in a scheduled 12th round match. The match ended in the 11th round, thanks to a left hook from Joyce. Now, the 15-0 rising heavyweight is making it clear he wants to take on the biggest names in the league. That means the Londoners are eyeing Tyson Fury & Oleksandr Usyk. Furthermore, he wants to take on one of the two current reigning heavyweight champions in the summer – when either of them could become the undisputed world champion.

“I am planning to have a fight in March,” Sports sky quotes Joyce as saying, “while all the others are fighting.” Sure, WBC and linear boxer Fury could actually go head-to-head with WBA, IBF and WBO Usyk early next year, making way for a potential fight (“potential” is exact word here) between Joyce and one of the two men in the summer. “In the summer, (I) will buy a big one, like Usyk or Fury,” he told Sports sky. “I’ll be ready because I’ll have one at the beginning of the year to get me going.”

Of course, if Fury and Usyk were to actually fight then there could indeed be a rematch clause. However, it is doubtful that Joyce will sit on the sidelines until the smoke clears. “I don’t understand why people do it,” the fighter said to Sports sky, referring to boxers who like to wait for a big fight to come. “It makes them tired of hitting their shots and their skills, you always want to keep improving your skills and learning and growing as a boxer as well as correcting. every mistake as well as join these exciting battles for the fans. “

Joyce and Fury have actually worked together before. Furthermore, they worked together at the infamous Big Bear, California while Fury was training for his first bout against then-WBC champion Deontay Wilder. Joyce said: “It was tough at Big Bear… you had to be a tough man to train there. “You run a long lap and run every morning, you train your abs a lot, it really trains you to be a beast, a tank.” He’s going to need quite a bit of an arsenal if he wants to win against the likes of Fury and Usyk. However, there was no doubt that Joyce was armed with supreme confidence at least.
