The only runner is Major Dundee, who ran in the colors of the late Trevor Hemmings. A bumper winner on his Southwell debut in May 2019, he’s hit a good standard in hurdles, although he hasn’t improved as expected. He scored on the sixth attempt, scoring at Chepstow in March, ahead of a lesser effort at Ayr.
He was shaping up as if something was wrong that day and he deserves a second chance, especially now that he’s over the fence. Given his size and stature, he should improve a lot to move into this orb and his current 124 mark is more fair than his best form. The field conditions today will be ideal and the pitch is starting to form.
His return to travel is another positive for his chances and having worked well in the past, he can feel his presence at the per-way price tag under Cannon .
