January 2023 Dog Events and Dog Holidays – Dogster
New Year, more specifically, the days leading up to the New Year are my favorite time. I’m not so focused on setting specific goals or making big New Year resolutions that I end up feeling unattainable in March. What I enjoy is self-reflection about what I did in 2022 that was interesting or worthwhile and what I would like to continue or adjust in 2023.
Last year, my rescue Emmy, pictured above partying hard in her 2023 glasses, left her with a back injury. It forced our family to slow down, relax, and give Emmy the time she needed to heal. Slowing down is a challenge for two (and very active) boys! But we slowly slowed down, and Emmy slowly recovered and is now happily doing all sorts of mischief in our house. Slowing down is good for all of us. We plan to slow down even more — walking leisurely, spending more cuddling time, baking homemade dog food — by 2023.
What would you like to do with your dog in 2022 and how will you keep those good feelings in the new year? We always love to hear about any challenge or achievement you and your dog achieve. Check out our January dog events and maybe some happenings around the country will spark some 2023 ideas for your fur family.
