James Gunn and SUDA51 not involved with the Lollipop chainsaw remake
American screenwriter and director James Gunn, as well as Grasshopper Manufacture Suda51 founder, have clarified that they will not be working on the upcoming film. Sweet saw blade rework, do it again. This means that while publisher Dragami Games’ effort involved the development team working on the original release of Sweet saw bladea number of key writers and creators from that time will not be involved in the remake’s development.
News of the remake’s development comes weeks after Dragami Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda tease a revival back in June 2022. The announcement reveals a tentative Release window 2023, although details are still relatively scarce. However, Yasuda also said that the “original staff” will work on the remake, although there are some elements “different from the original”.
Speculation in the fan community and through news coverage has led James Gunn, one of the original authors Sweet saw blade, to make it clear that he is not part of the remake. In a quoted tweet, Gunn said that Dragami Games did not approach him or Suda to work on the project. Furthermore, he had only heard about the remake from Suda a few weeks before. However, Gunn also expressed that this is neither a condemnation nor an endorsement of the remake.
To answer the question in the article, both me and @suda_51 currently engaged in this. I first heard about it from Suda a few weeks ago. https://t.co/hc659ROwXQ

Suda then continued with her own post, adding that the Grasshopper Manufacture was also not part of the remake’s development. This is remarkable, like the original Sweet saw blade was a joint development project between Grasshopper Manufacture and the team at Kadokawa Games, which was eventually split into Dragami Games.
To add my two cents, like @JamesGunn said, neither he nor I were involved in this project, and the Grasshopper Manufacture has nothing to do with the development or anything. https://t.co/ctLfTvk1yn
