It’s sourdough bread and banana tree planting for Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The two stars talked about their time together during the Covid-19 pandemic Everybody that the actor, Lee’s godson, and his girlfriend, Jeanne Cadieu, lived in the house next door Curtis own. Curtis, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 Academy Awards, is friends with Gyllenhaal’s parents, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner.

“We just got to know each other,” Lee said at the premiere of Gyllenhaal’s new thriller “The Covenant.” “He also lived with me during Covid for almost a year. He and Jeanne live in the house next door that I have. And so there is that too. In a minute.”

Lee revealed that Gyllenhaal, like many, turned to bread making during that time, while also acting, singing and growing banana trees for a small group.

“He made a lot of sourdough bread,” Lee said. “So singing, acting, sourdough. And he did that test when you do the banana tree move against the wall and take your shirt off and put it back on.

Gyllenhaal added that the toasting process was jammed.

“I’m still eating sourdough,” he said. “Yes. I haven’t stopped. Even though we’re out of the pandemic, I’m still making sourdough.”

Gyllenhaal’s new film is a military horror film directed by Guy Ritchie. The film also stars Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield and Jonny Lee Miller.
