Jacksonville Jaguars, LT Cam Robinson tagged franchise achieves three-year, $54 million extension

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Jaguars and settle on the left Cam Robinson has reached an agreement on a three-year, $54 million contract extension, a union source confirmed Wednesday.

Robinson is set to play the 2022 season on the franchise card with a $16.7 million guarantee and will instead earn $18 million annually through 2024.

Robinson, whom the Jaguars picked 34th overall in the 2017 NFL draft, is also on the franchise tag in 2021 for $13.75 million.

Locking down Robinson means it’s impossible to handle attacks for Jaguar with the #1 overall pick. They can still draft. Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonuplay at left-back for a year, then slide him to the right in 2023. But the team is expected to pick a passer, with Aidan Hutchinson and Travon Walker top two candidates.

Robinson ranked 48th among qualifying tackles last season with a pass save of 86.1% – according to ESPN Stats & Info research – just below average (87.5%). During the 2017-21 seasons, he ranked 69th in tackles (81.3%) among tacklers who played at least 16 games.
