Every dog deserves love, a protective home, and a family that cherishes them. However, there are animals that suffer because of heartless owners who do not value them. Abandonment is one of the cruelest things a person can do, and no dog should have to endure such heartache. Despite this, we still see countless stories like this and it tears every fiber of our bodies. When Mia was abandoned by her owner in the dead of night, she was clueless and scared. She was tied to the fence with a small blanket, some food and water.
Her master disappeared, leaving Mia in the dark, waiting and hoping for his return but it never happened. Luckily, kind-hearted people recognized Mia’s difficult situation and acted quickly. Yasmin, a dedicated volunteer with Jersey Pits Rescue in New Jersey, came to Mia’s rescue, deeply moved by her plight. Thankfully, this adorable Pittie is so adorable that she quickly warmed up to Yasmin, wagging her tail and flashing a grateful smile. It seemed like she sensed that things were about to get better. And they did it!
Because it was late, Yasmin prepared a blanket and pillow and decided to spend the night with Mia in the car. The two spent the whole night together enjoying delicious foods that Mia loved. The next morning, Mia is treated for fleas and welcomed into a temporary home—Yasmin’s house.
“Mia is the sweetest, most precious little soul we have ever met. We don’t know how a dog abandoned in this way can still be so resilient and adorable,” the rescue expressed in a Facebook post.
Mia quickly integrated into the new environment. She was clearly a beloved pet in the past, as evidenced by her impeccable manners and excellent social skills.
“She is very low maintenance and happy to be with her people. She walks easily on a leash, is a gentle handler, and absolutely LOVES children! Mia doesn’t mind being in the crib and knows how to use the bathroom outside,” the rescue team added.
Mia is especially affectionate with people and shows no problems with Yasmin’s cat or other animals. Mia is undeniably a loving person, especially loved by children. All Mia ever wanted was attention, and now she got it in abundance. Within days, the rescue introduced her to her foster father, David, who was eager to meet his new companion.
During their first meeting, Mia ran up to David and immediately bonded with him. She was inseparable from him, clearly favoring him above all others, which led to what the rescue community calls “fostering failure.” David and his family cannot bear the thought of parting ways with Mia and decide to make her a permanent member of their family.
Mia is now living a life full of adventure and love with her favorite people. The best part is that she never has to fear being abandoned again. Her days of uncertainty are over, replaced by a future filled with happiness.
