Jack Catterall Says Josh Taylor Is Under Pressure For Rematch
Jack Catterall believes Josh Taylor has bowed to public pressure to try to ensure a rematch between the two takes place.
A comeback could happen later this year after Taylor has openly talked about wanting a rematch with Catterall.
In February, at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro the Scot has held four of his Ultralight world titles by division decision. The controversial results have led to a public outburst that shows no signs of stopping.
Taylor vacated her WBA and WBC titles making him the Unification champion at 140lbs.
Speaking on Talksport’s recent Fight Night Catterall explains why he thinks Taylor is wanting a rematch.
“I believe he has also been under a lot of pressure, from the public, for this fight to happen.”
“Make no mistake, he lost a lot of assists since the game. I think the way he presents himself as well as his words and actions after the battle. “
“I don’t think there are any fights for him at Welterweight at this minute, and certainly no one else at 140.”
In post-match interviews back in February, Taylor revealed that he would be jumping up to the all-star Welterweight division but now appears to have put it on hold.
However, in a Interview with the Edinburgh Evening News Preston southpaw says he won’t wait forever for Catterall to agree a deal.
“Hopefully my team can agree a deal with him. I’ll give him three or four weeks of jerseys, but if I don’t hear back then I’ll move on. “
