Izera builds electric cars using Geely SEA EV platform – Poland’s national car

Geely has announced that it has signed a license agreement with ElectroMobility Poland to provide the Geely Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform to EMP for the development of a range of electric cars for EMP’s new Izera brand. Geely will also be EMP’s technology partner for the project.

EMP is supported by the Polish government and Izera will essentially be the first Polish domestic brand in generations. EMP’s website says Poland is Europe’s largest new car market without its own domestic car brand, so the Izera brand could be a catalyst for the growth of component manufacturers. and Polish auto parts. Sounds very familiar doesn’t it? Currently without a domestic brand, the auto parts industry is already the second largest in Poland.

The first vehicle that Izera will develop on the SEA platform is of course a compact SUV, one of the most popular body styles today. Next will be a C-segment wagon and a hatchback. EMP will build Izera cars at its own plant in Jaworzno in Poland, employing 2,400 people.

EMP will be the first direct external user of the SEA platform. Geely’s smart brands and Zeekr have already started shipping SEA-based vehicles.
