After all, it doesn’t look like Ivan Redkach will face Adrien Broner in a pay-per-view match on February 25. When tweeting that he had finished boxing on Sunday, Redkach added that he was. still want to fight Broner. Now it seems, at least for the time being, that that war is not going to happen. Instead, Broner will face famous veteran Hank Lundy. Truth be told, this wasn’t a bad match. Sure, both men are past their prime and the fight isn’t about pay each, but given the asking price of forty dollars, it’s clear that there are plenty of bad deals out there. than out there in this day and age.
It’s been a long time since Broner, once considered a potential heir to Floyd Mayweather, has become a real force in the sport. Now, after losing some top-flight fights to the likes of Shawn Porter and Manny Pacquiao, the man is looking to return to the BLK ad shop, which also advertises Terence Crawford’s final bout. . Having fought a total of three times over the past half-decade, it’s important for Broner, 33, who is still quite young, to stay active and get some wins back on his resume.
“I’m glad they found a worthy replacement at Hank Lundy,” Broner said. “Unfortunately, Redkach had to retreat, but I was ready for whoever they put in front of me. This is the AB program and I’m on a mission to break people in my way. Hank Lundy is in trouble. I’ll beat him up.”
Lundy, of course, is delighted at the chance of another top-flight game as he moves towards 40. With a record of 33-12-1, the man has lost all four of his last four. A victory over Broner, even a currently disadvantaged Broner, will be a fulcrum for the guy.
“Fighting Broner was something I had envisioned for a long time and now this opportunity has come to me,” Lundy said. “Broner has established himself as one of the best boxers in the world, but he is not active, so I will make the most of his inactivity. Everyone knew I would fight anyone and the big names ran away from me. So I’m telling everyone right now, I’m going to beat this possible man.
