The latest edition of Underwater Photography magazine—Issue 136—is now available as a free download.
As always, there’s a useful roundup of industry news and new imaging gear to start things off. In this issue, we have the new AOI UH-GPX housing for the GoPro HERO9–HERO12, two new housings for the OM System TG-7 (from Ikelite and Nauticam), and SeaLife’s new 6-inch Wide Angle Dome Lens for the SportDiver smartphone housing, which we first saw at DEMA in New Orleans—among other products.
On the equipment test front, you’ll find a detailed look at the newly released Scubalamp MR6 HDMI monitor by Peter Rowlands, an extensive review of the Ikelite DS230 strobe by frequent DPG contributor Nicolas Remy, a comprehensive review of the Oceanic+ iPhone underwater housing by Shannon Moran, and an in-depth assessment of the OM System TG-7 with Olympus FCON-T02 fisheye converter lens.
There are also various features that make for an interesting read, including Nigel Marsh’s “Sailing Across the Banda Sea,” Rick Ayrton’s “Photographing Shipwrecks around the British Isles,” and José Luis Alcaide Sanjurjo’s “Mar Menor Seahorses.” And, finally, of course, you’ll probably recognize the magazine’s cover, Marco Gargiulo’s amazing over-under winner that clinched the “Best of Show” title in the DPG Masters Underwater Imaging Competition 2023.
