The Israeli military said four houses were hit directly – two in Sderot, just 1 km (0.6 miles) from Gaza, and two in Ashkelon, 7 km from Gaza. Another hit the roof of a kindergarten in Nirim, on the southern edge of Gaza, and a yeshiva (religious school) in Netivot, 11 kilometers east of Gaza. There were no direct injuries from the rocket fire.
