Italian underwater imaging equipment maker Isotta has unveiled its housing for Nikon’s popular full-frame mirrorless camera, the Z8. Like the Z9, its big brother, the Z8 features a 45.7MP stacked CMOS sensor, does away with the mechanical shutter, and boasts an autofocus system with DSLR-style 3D-tracking mode. The Z8 can shoot 20fps RAW and record both 8K/30p and 4K/120p from the full sensor width.
Isotta’s Z8 housing is made from anodized aluminum and finished with signature red. It shares all of the features found on other Isotta housings, including dual integrated adjustable handles, one-handed opening/closing via a rotary knob, dual O-ring seals on all buttons and removable parts, and an integrated moisture alarm.
The housing ships with two fiber-optic ports (optional trigger required), while optional bulkheads provide the possibility of strobe connection via electrical sync cords. One M24 and three M16 ports allow various accessories to be installed, such as a vacuum valve or external monitor.
The housing has an MSRP of $3,690 and is available for pre-order at retailers such as Backscatter.
