Finding Wordle answers becomes too difficult or boring? Well, Wordle clones are back and they can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Wordle became a hugely popular game in no time. In fact, it took the Internet by storm with people sharing their Wordle scores on social media. All are very competitive in a good way and Wordle users can be seen proudly showcasing their achievements. However, this growing popularity has resulted in several copies of Wordle being made and these same copies are available on different app stores. These Wordle clones look exactly the same. Remarkable, Apple previously wiped out almost all copies of Wordle in January, but once again some copies like Wordus, Wordl etc have appeared on the App store. To my surprise, the original Wordle app isn’t even on the App Store.
None of these new games are actively transforming into the Wordle name but they all offer some variation on Wordle’s gameplay, down to the same user interface, design, and color scheme. .
However, the Apple App Store guidelines explicitly state that copying other games is not allowed. In section 4.1 of its App Store Guidelines, the company asks developers to “come up with your own idea” and not “simply copy the newest popular app on the App Store or make some slight change to another application’s name or UI and pass it on as your own. ”
Wordle clones created a lot of outrage on social media when it was said that greedy developers were trying to make a quick buck of this pure rarity on the internet. All of these Wordle clones include commercial features, optional in-app purchases, or subscription fees.
However, these Wordle clones are proving to be quite popular. Some of these apps have been downloaded by over 10,000 users.
Surprisingly, some of these games offer the exact same experience as the daily charade, while others offer a slightly varied experience with features like unlimited daily word count.
