Is Francis Ngannou’s proposal versus Deontay Wilder a good idea?

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published in MMAJunkie.com.

Francis Ngannou became one of the biggest freestylers in MMA history in January when he left the UFC.

Ngannou broke up the promotion program while still a heavyweight champion when the two sides could not come to an agreement on a new contract. Ngannou’s side has said that it’s not all about the money. Everyone knows Ngannou wants to box as well, and so far the UFC has only let one of their signed boxers fight while still working for the company, and that was Conor McGregor in 2017. .

Now, Ngannou finds herself courted by every other major MMA commercial, as well as the likes of BKFC and boxers — including former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Wilder came up with a compelling proposition for Ngannou: a two-fight package, one boxing and one MMA fight, where each boxer gets to fight one fight in his or her home combat sport.

Is that the path Ngannou should take? Should he seriously think about PFL or Bellator? What about BKFC? What’s best for Ngannou’s next move?

That’s the question we asked in this week’s “Spinning Back Clique” panel by Brian “Goze” Garcia, Nolan King, and Dan Tom. They broke it with “Grgeous” host George Garcia.
