Is Dogs Allowed on Tuesday Mornings? (2022)
Ready to shop for some home decor – and wonder if your dog could come with you to your local Tuesday Morning store? We are pleased to announce that dogs are allowed in stores Tuesday Morning.
In fact, out of all the dog-friendly stores, Tuesday Morning is one of the most dog-friendly.
So get ready to shop local Tuesday Mornings with your dog! Your dog will need to be on a leash or walking while shopping.
Our Experience with Tuesday Mornings
For several years, I was a “Tuesday Morning blogger,” one of a group of bloggers who wrote about these Texas-based stores.
I am the pet blogger on the team and can certainly attest to the welcoming spirit of the stores. One year, I attended a vacation event in the Dallas area with representatives from Tuesday Mornings – and of course our dogs!
Take your dog until Tuesday morning
The key to having a good time shopping with your dog – and making sure pet friendly store REMAIN is dog-friendly – taking a few extra steps before and during your shopping tour:
Before your trip
- Pack a leash no longer than 6 feet. This will help keep your dog from getting tangled up on display and minimize tripping risks for other shoppers. You’ll want your dog to be by your side throughout the shopping process.
- Leave a retractable leash at home. Retractable lanyards can actually pose a tripping hazard in stores (not to mention the potential for overturning who knows).
- Call your local store quickly. If you haven’t been to this particular place recently, give your local Tuesday morning shop a quick call to confirm that your dog can accompany you when shopping just to be safe.
- Pack a cleaning kit. Along with the poop bag, pack some tissues and hand sanitizer. You never know.
- Pack a small blanket or throw for the stroller if your dog will be traveling in the car. If you have a small dog that will be riding in your cart, PLEASE pack the throw to give him a rest. This will prevent his feet from going through the bottom of the cart’s mesh. I was at a store once and heard dogs in two aisles wailing in pain. I come over to help; His foot has completely fallen to the bottom of the cart and his owner is having trouble getting his foot back through the cart. (The story ended well – but this is definitely a cautionary tale!)
During your trip
- Stop the potty before entering the store. Even if your dog pees before he leaves the house, take a few minutes to visit the trees in the parking lot.
- Keep your dog close by. For the safety of both your dog and other shoppers, keep your dog by your side when shopping.
- Get any accident right away. If your dog is in an accident, pick it up immediately. Especially if you have a male dog that loves to mark, pay special attention. When you find your dog seems a bit interested in a spot, speed up the walk or distract your dog with a treat.

Should you walk your dog Tuesday morning?
Okay, we’ve determined that Tuesday Morning stores welcome dogs on a leash – but SHOULD you walk your dog in on a Tuesday Morning?
Well, the answer depends on your dog.
Unlike home repair shop very loud and noisy, even if you visit during non-peak hours, the Tuesday Morning stores are quiet – so they are a good store to visit if your dog has just shopped shop.
However, if your dog shows any form of aggression – with people or other dogs – then dog-friendly stores are not for your dog. Visit the store for yourself and pick up a fun toy to surprise your dog when you get home!
If your dog is happy to go to the stores, then be sure to bring your dog in on Tuesday mornings. Along with home decor, the stores also have a pet area rich with toys, dog treats, and more!
Can Service Dogs Come In On Tuesday Mornings?
Yes, a trained service dog necessary to assist you is allowed into any Tuesday Morning store under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):
