Since the first moment of development on God of War Ragnarök, our team at Santa Monica Studio have made hundreds of decisions every day to shape this game into the experiences and stories we are about to share. with you on November 9th.
Throughout this journey, each team member who has touched the God of War Ragnarök in one way or another has left their mark, each with their own perspective that has given life to everything you will. see, hear, and interact at launch.
The story of God of War Ragnarök is not only the story of father and son facing the coming waves of war, it is also the story of individuals who have chosen to dedicate their time, skills, and passions together. each other built this game in the face of unprecedented uncertainty during a global pandemic.
In the God of War Ragnarok Behind the Scenes series, we’ll take you to all the Nine Realms – from Midgard to Asgard (and maybe a pitstop along the way). With each episode, we hope to not only give you a unique perspective on the years of efforts to create this title, but also give you insights from the many team members who have make this a reality.
Starting today, every Tuesday for the next nine weeks we’re going to dive into one aspect of the game – from shaping the story and elevating the combat, to creating scores and building cinematics.
Our first episode starts off like our story, in Midgard, where we’ll discuss the major plot rhythms from the game that will eventually return to play in God of War Ragnarök, as well as how Our team approaches the sequel that will end the Nordic saga.
We’ll keep these free until launch, so don’t worry about us revealing any secrets! Unless you yourself are the Father of All, you will have to wait until November 9 to find out everything we have hidden in our hands.

Next week on October 25, we will depart from the icy cold of Midgard and head to the land of the Elves, Alfheim, as our party gets a glimpse of the sophisticated, brutal warfare of God of War Ragnarök, along with some fearsome enemies who will test your skills in battle.
