Instagram Notes gets a BIG feature update; Allow users to add songs they’ve listened to
Since Instagram added the new Notes feature in December 2022, they’ve been looking for ways to make the feature more engaging and immersive. In its early days, a new Instagram status update feature in addition to Stories was considered redundant, which many expected would fail. However, the feature has grown in popularity, and now Instagram has added another cool feature to make it even more fun. Users can now add a 30-second clip of a song of their choice to Instagram Notes.

Song clip added to Instagram Notes
With this feature, users will be able to attach a 30-second clip of a song to Instagram Notes. They will also be able to add a short caption next to the song clip, or as a context for the song. music or as a standalone state update. Others can tap the song tag to listen to the excerpt.
Additionally, Instagram is also adding a translate button to Notes so users can understand status updates written in another language.
Instagram notes are supposed to be used as out of office messages as they can only be seen in the DM window. With a character limit of just 60, it’s meant to be changed often, and shared a small update of the day that’s too small to post on a feed or even a Story. This feature has become popular among younger age groups who like to stay up to date with events throughout the day. Therefore, the ability to share the songs they are listening to is also likely to become popular.
Instagram Notes isn’t the only text-based feature the company is investing in. Earlier this month, leaked images of a new Twitter-like app Instagram is building surfaced.
