Kenny was paralyzed in all four legs after the crib gate fell on her neck. Leslie Gallagher, founder of Two Hands Four Paws, took him in and took care of him even though he could no longer move or care for himself. Some veterinarians have suggested euthanasia as an option, but Gallagher refused to give up Kenny.

But Leslie Gallagher still has hope. Something tells her that Kenny is a fighter. She wanted to give him a chance so she and her staff worked tirelessly to help him recover. However, things kept getting worse. During physical therapy, it was discovered that Kenny had a cancerous tumor and required surgery.
Worse still, while recovering from surgery, Kenny ended up developing pneumonia. Fate has tested Kenny to the limit.

Kenny and Leslie didn’t give up even when the odds were against them. They fought hard to find first-class medical help for Kenny. After managing to raise $9,000 towards the cost of his initial surgery, they convinced Dr. Wayne Berry – a renowned neurologist – to agree to a second surgery. Surprisingly, it succeeded in gradually reducing Kenny’s pain over time with physical therapy which also showed significant results afterwards.

Kenny has undergone multiple massages, laser therapy, hydrotherapy, acupuncture therapy and physical exercises in the coming months. You name it; Kenny tried it. Kenny’s legs slowly started working again as he made gradual and steady progress. He regained control of his bladder and bowels little by little.
