Icelandair launches new non-stop flight from Reykjavik to Tel Aviv this summer



Travelers looking to visit Tel Aviv this summer will soon have another option.

Icelandic Airlines plans to offer direct flights from its center near Reykjavik to Tel Aviv, allowing US travelers to make connecting flights via Iceland to the Israeli city. Flights will begin May 10 and run seasonally through October 29.

The airline will fly from Keflavik Airport (KEF) to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Current Icelandair operate year-round in six US cities and seasonally in seven others. Recent Airline announced plans to launch a direct flight from Detroit to Reykjavik for the summer travel season.

Growing demand for flights between Tel Aviv and Iceland has partly prompted the airline to add the city to its network. Icelandair also says the new port will provide North America with another connection to Tel Aviv.

“Tel Aviv is an exciting new destination that fits perfectly with our business model and allows us to provide convenient connections between Israel and North America,” said Icelandair Bogi CEO Nils Bogason. said in a statement.

Tel Aviv has become an increasingly popular destination for tourists thanks to its food, nightlife and cultural offerings. Israel also has undergo a recovery in the tourism industry since the pandemic, and the country’s tourism ministry said it expected to welcome around 2.5 million tourists by the end of the year.
