Kia said in its recall report: “Vehicles covered with a gearshift system have a Shift Control Unit (SCU) and a parking latch actuator. Meanwhile, brands advise against parking on an incline whenever possible to minimize the risk of tipping over if something goes wrong behind its ugly front end. While both the Ioniq 5 and EV6 have over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities, brands are asking customers to bring their vehicles in to have the issue resolved. Customers can expect to receive instructions from Hyundai or Kia in late May or early June.
