Hyundai Motor India (HMI) has unveiled the all-new Exter, which is a new sub-four meter SUV that will compete with cars like Tata punch, Renault Kiger And Nissan Magnite when it goes on sale – pre-orders have started with a fee of 11,000 rupees (598 RM).
The Korean automaker did not provide any size specifications for the Exter, but it is expected to be about the same size. casper It measures 3,595 mm long, 1,595 mm wide, 1,575 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.
Media reports in India suggest that Exter will be built on the K1 platform, which is also used by Casper in South Korea as well as Grand i10Nios in India. HMI has confirmed the Exter will have two engine options, with the first option being a 1.2-litre Kappa II naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. marketed as Smart Auto AMT).
The second engine is a 1.2-litre bio, also in the Kappa series, that can handle both petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG), although this engine is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. “All powertrains are tuned to deliver consistent performance in different conditions and will ensure an enjoyable driving experience,” the company said in a press release.
As for trim options, there are five options, namely EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect. A unique Ranger Khaki paint color will also be offered, which is described as reflecting “one’s desire to explore while celebrating the thrill of setting foot in the world.”
In terms of design, the Exter presents a rather distinctive face with H-shaped LED daytime running lights placed above the main projector headlights, with the rear headlights flanking the brand’s smaller parametric grille. .
Other highlights include the word Exter just below the trim that links the daytime running lights, the skid plates, the prominent fenders as well as the black body panels. Hyundai was also keen to point out the SUV’s floating roof design in a two-tone color scheme, complemented by roof rails and C-pillar trim that also features a parametric design. Currently, the automaker has not provided details about the interior and available features.
