Anthony Davis injured as Warriors beat Lakers in Game 5

The defending champion Warriors, 27 points behind Steph curry and 25 words Andrew Wigginsdefeat Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 121-106 in Game 5 of their Western Conference semifinals, forced to play Game 6 in LA on Friday.

However, it looks like the Lakers may have bigger problems at hand.

Center Anthony Davis suffered a head injury in what appeared to be an accidental Golden State elbow Kevon Looney in the fourth quarter.

Davis held his head, grimacing, before entering the dressing room at the end of the game. His status for Friday’s Game 6 in Los Angeles was not immediately clear.

Davis finished with 23 points on 10 to 18 shots, nine rebounds and three assists but failed to block a single shot.

LeBron James had 25 points and nine bounces for Los Angeles.

Blue Draymond contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds, as Golden State played tight defensively leading to more chances at the end of the attack – just as coach Steve Kerr challenged his team to do.

Now, the game returns to LA for Game 6, with the Lakers leading 5-0 at home after this season, having won eight consecutive games on their field since losing. Bulls on March 26.

Golden State is trying to recover from a 3-1 loss streak for the second time in franchise history and will try to win one more to bring Game 7 back to Chase Center on Sunday. The Warriors rallied 3-1 in the 2016 Western Conference finals last Oklahoma City.
