How to edit black and white landscape photos

We’re used to seeing landscape photos with vibrant, eye-catching colors, but of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t create compelling black and white photos. However, it is not enough to simply pull all the saturation out of the file to create worthwhile photos. This great video tutorial will show you how to edit black and white landscape photos for the best results.

Coming to you from Alister Benn’s Expressive photographyThis awesome video tutorial will show you how to edit black and white landscape photos. If you’re going to create a black and white photo, one trick that will make your process easier is to set your camera’s image to monochrome. This will change the rear monitor preview (and viewfinder if you’re shooting with a mirrorless camera) to black and white, making it easy to plan your shot with the final edit. And don’t worry, as long as you’re shooting in raw, your camera will record the full color version, so there’s no penalty if you change your mind. Check out the video above for the full recap from Benn.
