However, in recent years, Lightroom has made some notable strides, and you can now make major edits without leaving the program. One of my favorite tools for enhancing images is the radial filter tool, which I use as a more customizable blur tool, especially since it can be defined anywhere you want in the frame. By reducing the exposure by just 0.3 or 0.4 stops and using a generous layer of feathers, you can draw attention to your subject in an almost imperceptible way. Combine it with Lightroom’s impressive new masking tools, especially the intersection and selective theme tools, and you have some powerful options at your disposal.
