When Fujifilm released X-T4 in April 2020, it doesn’t look like a big upgrade compared to X-T3, and even Fujifilm claims that the newer camera is intended as a sister rather than a successor. After two years of heavy use, how will the X-T4 retain its value in 2022?
Travel photographer Andrei Dima talks about his experience with the X-T4, a camera that probably doesn’t provide a great incentive to upgrade for most X-T3 users. Both have 26-megapixel APS-C sensors, identical processors and EVFs, and weather resistance. The X-T4 introduced a larger and brighter vari-angle LCD, five-axis image stabilization, better battery, continuous shooting ratio for stills, a small number of autofocus points, and improved improve video quality.
Dima makes a solid argument for the X-T4, but the X-T3 still feels like a very attractive prospect as it currently retails for $1,099 – $600 cheaper than its big brother. its newer.
