Horse Country announces partnership with second step forward


Horse Country has announced a new partnership with Second Stride. The thoroughbred post-care organization will begin offering tours through Horse Country in July.

Through accredited partners of the Horse Country Post-Breed Care Alliance, our industry can directly demonstrate the care given to horses retreating from the track as they learn new skills and find new homes. It’s a pivotal moment in our industry story, and we’re proud at Horse Country to connect people with these important nonprofits.”

Second Stride tours will be offered six days a week, with both public and private tour options, starting July 10. Visitors will learn about the retraining and rehabilitation process. , and meet current cadets, as well as socialize with purebred ambassadors residing on the ranch, including Kentucky Derby candidate General A Rod, Warrior’s Club classified bet winner and million dollar winner Hawaakom. Registration for

Second Stride joins the Kentucky Horse Adoption Center, New Careers, Secretarial Center and TRF at Chestnut Hall as a non-profit member of Horse Country. These members serve Thoroughbreds and other breeds through retraining, rehabilitation, or lifetime shelter.
