They said that during that call, Carlee was driving about 600 ft.—equivalent to the length of six football fields—because she allegedly followed the child she said she saw.

What’s more disturbing is that her Google searches were done on her cell phone shortly before the time of her disappearance.

Police said on July 13, the day she disappeared, she searched “how to get money from the registry without getting caught,” two searches related to Amber Alerts and the maximum age for such warnings.

She is also said to have searched for the movie “Taken,” a 2008 film about a father’s estranged daughter who is enslaved by human traffickers shortly after they arrive in Paris for a vacation.

Carlee is also alleged to have searched for bus tickets from Birmingham to Nashville, with a departure date set on the exact day she went missing.

Police reveal details of Carlee’s version of the story, saying they were unable to verify her claim

Authorities also released some more information about Carlee’s story.

She said that after approaching the child, a man grabbed her and took her into the woods. She then told police in her first interview that she was put in an 18-wheeler.

Investigators said there was no evidence that a child was walking down Interstate 459 other than Carlee’s 911 call, according to a press release sent out Tuesday.

She said a woman was also there, but she could only hear her voice and never actually see her. She describes a man with orange hair with a bald spot.

Hoover PD said that they requested a follow-up interview with her. However, they say they were denied that request by Carlee herself.

They went on to say that they were unable to verify her initial claim about the orange-haired and 18-wheeler man. A police official added that there was no threat to the public in this particular case.

The police have no intention of charging Carlee, just saying that she can tell what really happened

When asked if Carlee could be charged for wasting state and federal resources, a Hoover PD official said they were glad she was home and that was their goal throughout this entire case.

The official said only Carlee can really say what really happened to her during the 49 hours she was missing.

They added that they respect her privacy and will not disclose any further information collected from her mobile phone.

Shade room was initially reported on the incident after she showed up at her parents’ home on Saturday (July 15) after disappearing on July 13.

Her parents were noted ahead of Wednesday’s news. They previously confirmed that Carlee had been kidnapped. Her parents also said that she “definitely fought for her life” in an interview with NBC News.
