Honda recalls 1.3 million vehicles because of reverse camera error; US markets Odyssey, Pilot and Passport affected
Honda is recalling 1.3 million vehicles worldwide due to a possible problem with the images from the vehicle’s rear view camera according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Reuters reported.
This recall relates to 2018-2023 adventurePilot 2019-2022 and 2019-2023 Passport. NHTSA has found that a potentially faulty communication coaxial connector on these vehicles could cause the rear view camera image to not show up on the vehicle’s screen, the report said. Honda said the recall applies to 1.2 million vehicles in the United States, 88,000 in Canada and 16,000 in Mexico.
For affected vehicles, Honda will install an improved cable between the vehicle’s current display audio equipment and the terminal connections, and install a cap directly onto the vehicle’s cable connector to connect the vehicle. correctly connect the audio display device, according to the report.
