You should at least pay the price for this special McLaren Senna that was sunk by a YouTuber
Car performance when you don’t know what you are doing is stupid. Trying to show off in a six-figure supercar and sabotage because it gets worse. That’s what happened when a YouTuber tried to look cool and ended up damaging his recently purchased one-of-a-kind McLaren Senna. Now the wrecked Senna is sitting at an auto auction in Los Angeles, waiting to be sold.
It all started around April 29, when an Instagram story started spreading across other social media platforms — thanks in particular to a Reddit post the video has since been deleted – showing a McLaren Senna performing on Ventura Boulevard in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. In the video, Senna stops on the road, dives into the center turn lane, then drives down the road while accelerating and upshifting.
The driver didn’t seem to know what the hell he was doing when he lost control, braked suddenly and crashed the Senna right into the side of a Lexus dealership. According to comments on the Reddit post, the driver of the Senna is none other than YouTuber Mondi, whose real name is Edmond Barseghian.
Mondi appeared to have just purchased the car, even detailing his purchase a few days before the accident. The Senna is described as a Kiwi Edition 1/1 model, an original owner’s special with amazing green paint, brown leather, animated Kiwi graphics and unique carbon fiber wheels. In a viral “apology” post after the accident, he mentioned having just given the car a series of modifications, including slick tires – not smart for a road car school.
The accident also seemed to affect Mondi, with many comments saying he was not allowed to drive because he damaged his “992 GT3 and a brand new EV hummer in the last year. He also crashed another GT3RS on the road while trying to slide it.” He has since gone private on Instagram, but his account is filled with videos of him driving extremely dangerously on busy city streets. The videos include him destroying the transmission of an F40 while accelerating on the street and spinning the car around traffic, and another video showing him accelerating on launch control .
Auto insurance auction in North Hollywood currently has a wrecked Senna and will soon put it up for sale, according to the listing on the website. The post also gives us a better look at the extent of the damage from the crash – and it’s bad. The entire front of the Senna is basically gone, only the frame is bent and the airbags have deployed. But none of this should deter buyers when this item is on sale. The rest of the car is still mostly intact and it will probably be passed on to someone who will rebuild it. It will certainly take a lot of time and great expense before this thing is roadworthy, but it will be worth it to get this car back on the road.
