Hector Camacho’s alleged killers will finally be brought to trial
Those believed to have murdered Hector “Macho” Camacho in 2012 are expected to eventually face trial.
DailyMail.com is reporting that three suspects have been extradited from the US mainland to Puerto Rico, where the former world champion was killed. They will appear in court on Wednesday.
A TV station in Puerto Rico has identified two of the men in Jesus Naranjo and Joshua Mendez. The name of the third defendant was not released.
Camacho was sitting next to a friend in the passenger seat of a parked car when he was shot in the face on November 20, 2012 in Bayamon. He died 4 days later at the San Juan hospital. The friend, Adrian Mojica, died at the scene.
Mojica is clearly the target. The defendants allegedly intended to kill him and take several kilograms of cocaine from his car, DailyMail.com reported.
The defendants were taken into custody a few days after the murder. They have not been charged until now because of a witness who refused to testify. Another witness appeared, leading to the trial pending.
Naranjo and Mendez served time in prison in the US for other crimes.
