GWM Ute Cannon-XSR: Australia’s off-road Ute targets HiLux Rogue
GWM gave Ute cannon an upgrade focused on off-road.
The new one Cannon-XSR There’s a host of off-road hardware upgrades to support a more rugged new look, including a unique all-wheel drive system compared to the rest of the lineup.
That’s right, instead of the standard all-wheel drive system on the GWM Ute range, the Cannon-XSR has a part-time system with 2H, 4H and 4L settings, aided by differential locks on both two axes.
There’s a new crawl mode, one that’s on Toyota land cruiseras well as brake the inner wheels to allow you to turn faster on loose surfaces.
There’s also a new underbody shield to protect the most important oils on rough roads and a passive stabilizer bar at the front.
The XSR rides on new 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 256/65 all-terrain tires, while the exterior also features a unique snorkel, grille and steel bumpers, and plenty of black cladding to distinguish it from the Cannon normally.
Another new feature is the optional sunroof.
The Cannon-XSR is coming to dealers soon.
Power comes from the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine as the wider range, making 120kW of power and 400Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Prices start at $51,490 drive for ABN buyers or $52,990 drive for private buyers. Five colors are offered, with all white except the $595 option.
Sales of GWM Ute increased significantly at the same time in 2022, with 3150 units delivered so far in 2023. It outsold LDV T60 And NISSAN Navaraand is chasing Mitsubishi Triton.
