Ford Bronco sinks after driving on the beach near Bar Harbor, Maine

Roll your eyes, Blue Oval fans. From the looks of things, there are a few more Ford Bronco on the road today compared to last week. And that’s because Bronco Our focus today is on water, not on land. The photos you see here were taken by Wing Kip of the Aerial aesthetics in Maine, near Bar Harbor. The Bronco driver is said to have been attempting to drive in the sand at low tide between the coast and Bar Island when they became trapped and were unable to get out before high tide.

Result? A sunken Ford Bronco. Fortunately, reports show that Bronco’s occupant(s) got out safely.

According to several sources quote CD driver, locals say the Bronco driver made donuts in the sand, which helps explain how they got stuck in the first place. As you can see in the video above, a pair of pickup truck tried to free the SUV from its sandy grave using drag straps, but gave up on that when one of them broke.

The Bronco has since been floated using pontoon bags that a diver attaches to the vehicle from below. Next step, follow Island Towing, is to attach more rope and pull it into an area accessible by a heavy demolition device. Here’s hoping that all will go without any further environmental damage to the coastal area.
